Hot, Hot, Hot

I am so hot. I don't mean that in a good way either. I am so tired of being hot. ( Check back in the winter and see if I am tired of being cold.)

At fifty, my job has become more difficult, or at least so it seems. Twenty years ago I used to come home from work, go to the pool, get cleaned up, and go out partying. My famous words back then were that all I needed was 3 hours of sleep and I was good to go. Sure enough, I rarely missed work in spite of all this raising cane. Now I come home from work, drink a beer, sit at the computer a little while, take a shower, eat dinner, go to bed. I have nothing left at the end of the work day. I am exhausted and dreaming of retirement.

Maybe it is the fact that today was our 33rd day of 100+ degrees.

Maybe it is the fact that today was our 11th day in a row of over 100 degrees.

Maybe it is the fact that today was the 19th day out of the last 20 of over 100 degrees.

Or, maybe, just maybe,

I'm getting old.
