Goodbye My Friend
I met my best friend when I was 18 years old. I am 49 years and 110 days old. We have remained best friends for all these years. We have lived in three different places in Texas over the years , but always in the same area. We have witnessed each others lives through thick and thin. We have laughed together , cried together, played together, fished together, gotten drunk together, been bored together, been bored with each other, been mad at each other. She is my chosen family. She is my chosen sister. We have 30 years of each other's lives in our memory banks. I have been blessed to have such a friendship.
Next month my friend is moving away ...across Texas. Her life and career are taking her in new directions which I think are positive changes. I celebrate her new adventure, but miss her already.

I have a best friend too. She is also the sister I never had. She is the funniest person I know. She has been there for me to talk to. She listens, she lectures, she advices but she has never judged. She has accepted my mistakes and has loved me even though. She has manifested alot that has gone right in my life, for instance, a house 4 doors down, a job that required less travel time, and a dog I can't imagine not having around. She has the best values, never wanting to break the rules....that has helped me to be a better person. She has been supportive in my line of work and now that I'm moving away from her for the first time in 30 years, she is still being very supportive. She is even writing in this blog that she celebrates my new adventure. I am the one that has been blessed. I am the lucky one...She is so special to me and for me. I don't know how I will get along with her so many miles away.....I can not even imagine her not being just right there for me to talk to. I'm way dependent on her and our relationship. I'm not saying bye...ever. I'm planning when. I love you, Manda
