23 things I am thankful for on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2006.

1. My loving, supportive life partner.
2. My mother who is gone ,but whose birthday is today.
3. My father who was there for my first 17 important years.
4. My cousins, who are and have always been my best friends.
5. My best friend, who is forever.
6. My nieces and nephews who continue to provide the ups and downs I might have missed out on being childless.
7. My birth mother who bravely gave me up , so I could have a better life.
8. My entire extended family who makes me a part of something big.
9. My friends... all of them.
10. My seven disobedient dogs.
11. My four cats who allow us to reside with them.
12. My health ( I am old after all).
13. My job (no matter how much I bitch).
14. Our house.."is a very,very,very fine house...".
15. My seven year old "paid for" truck.
16. My, well, "America's team", the Dallas Cowboys.
17. The mild Dallas winters.
18. A Democratic majority in the House and Senate.
19. That I quit smoking 16 years ago.
20. That I am an American.
21. That I have lived this long.
22. The internet.
23. That I get the day off.
